Natural beauty

The landscapes made from multiple photographs reflect both the immediate capture of real moments and the constructed nature of image-making—whether mental, optic, or photographic. The subtle variations between the anologic photographs also help to reveal layers invisible to the naked eye.

« Natural » is a project that began in 2023 at the Domaine d’Abbadia, a protected natural reserve managed by the Conservatoire du littoral. Through various analog photography techniques, the artist deconstructs our representations, reveals the physical processes that shape our vision and questions our definition of the "nature."

The images then become bridges for exploring the connections of the living, the human-nature relationships, and the permeabilities between the interior of the protected reserve and the outside.

(This project comes from "Proximité-s", artist residency with writer Aliona Gloukhova, part of the Mondes Nouveaux program in partnership with the Conservatoire du littoral.)
