Anti-Erosion Dams in Senegal for Liberation | Carmen Abd Ali
'In Senegal, we have even seen grass grow back.'
For Liberation, Carmen Yasmine Abd Ali went to the Sine Saloum and Casamance regions, where "soft" and inexpensive damming methods are proving their worth against coastal erosion that is causing heavy damage in Senegal, which concentrates most of its activities on the coasts.
This assignment, produced with correspondent Théo Du Couedic, is part of the "Green Trails", a series of reports devoted to initiatives to combat the effects of global warming in the world's most affected regions. Each month, Liberation gives a voice to communities on the front line, who believe that solutions exist and that it is not too late.
