Registry for the future
In 2049, a small team of research and recovery scientists discover an underground survivalist’s bunker in Orange County, North Carolina. The group had been scouring the countryside looking for varied specimens, seed banks and so forth. 19 years had passed since the Klepto Wars erupted, precipitated by climate disasters and effectively concluded in nuclear holocaust. Amongst the standard fare of Iodine tablets, emergency ration food bars, solar powered flashlights and handhelds, antibiotics, rice sacks and so on, the scientists locate a homespun catalog of technology — analog photographs of hand tools — labelled “Registry for the Future” on the manila folder’s tab.
