' Vestiges' on view at GoEun Museum in Busan, South Korea | Tim Franco
Inland photographer Tim Franco’s project ‘Vestiges’ was on view at the GoEun Museum of Photography in Busan, as part of Archéologie du Présent, the debut exhibition of the Nuances collective, running through August.
Vestiges centers on Bogwang-dong, a neighbourhood in the heart of Seoul now standing empty. The work searches for what remains when a place loses its physical form — transforming found remnants into new images and objects that resist the clean erasure of redevelopment. At its core, the project asks what happens to collective memory when a city constantly rebuilds itself, and what it means to remember somewhere that no longer exists.
