Jana Margarete Schuler comes from the small Franconian town of Forchheim, where she grew up in a district called “Kellerwald”. A wooded area where one beer cellar follows another - rich in tradition and bizarre.

Since then, she has accompanied ice fishermen in Lapland, MEPs in Brussels, wrestlers in northern Mexico, brewers in Upper Franconia and winegrowers in Spain.
She lives in Bamberg and travels all over the world for her stories. Jana's work has appeared in ZEIT, Spiegel, Stern etc.
