Sugar Moon in GEO Magazine | Melanie Wenger

Photographer Mélanie Wenger's long-term project 'Sugar Moon' has been published this month in GEO Magazine Germany. For the past three years, she has been following Erik Grimland, a Texas exotic game hunting ranch owner and his family. The story explores the exotic game hunting industry of the south of the US during the Trump presidency. Sugar Moon is the schizophrenic story of the exotic trophy hunting industry. Embedded in southern gun culture, it also draws an intimate and crude portrait of Trump's America. Geo publishes the photographic work alongside the story of the photographer in immersion beautifully written by Jonas Breng.
