"Mars on Earth" exhibition at the MoTA, Slovenia | Matjaž Tančič
After traveling to 12 countries, photographer Matjaž Tančič’s project “Mars on Earth” was presented for the first time in his home country, Slovenia, at the MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art in March (Ljubljana).
The installation includes a selection of photographs displayed on lightboxes, accompanied by two video projections that expand on the themes of the project. The exhibition documents people working across different disciplines -from engineers and scientists to designers-who are involved in developing technologies for future human missions to Mars. Developed over several years and photographed across multiple continents, Mars on Earth examines how the contemporary space sector has evolved into a global field involving a wide range of professions and research initiatives.
The exhibition was on view from 3 March until 23 March 2026.
