Welcome to the arena!
The Battle is the ultimate image clash. A ring, four photography teams (from photo agencies or collectives), back-and-forth visual projections, lightning-fast photographic comebacks, and a fired-up crowd ready to decide the winner. Here, your punchline is a picture. Think DJ battle – but for photographers. Each team has 50 seconds to respond to the opponent’s image with one of their own.
The battle will take place on 7 July 2025 during the Rencontres d'Arles at the Inland x Hahnemühle House (La Maison Close -14 rue Robert Doisneau, Arles) starting at 7 p.m.
The Battle will be hosted by two exceptional MCs who already hosted the first historic battle in 2017.

Four teams go head-to-head in 3 rounds of 10 images each
Every team has a computer, a projector, and a screen
They take turns throwing an image to counter the opponent’s
The round is won by the team showing the strongest photographic repartee
A panel of 5 judges + the crowd’s reaction (applause meter!) decide who wins
The first team to win 2 rounds advances to the final
The losing teams face off for 3rd place

Gather your team of 3 or 4 photographers and step into the ring.
To apply, you’ll need:Belong to an agency or collective of photographers
A fun and original team name
A few lines on why you’re here to win
A logo (if you’ve got one, even better!)

The deadline for applications is 8 June 2025.
Announcement of the four participating teams on social media on 15 June 2025
Participating teams must submit their 250 low-resolution images for the competition by 30 June 2025. (These images will be stored on the computer assigned to them)
Launch of the contest on 7 July 2025 at 7 pm in the ring at the Inland x Hahnemühle House

Submit your application by filling out the information form below and sending a team logo (2000px on the longest side, png format, max 1MB) to contact@inlandstories.com (Applications sent through any other means will not be considered.)
