Unperson | Book Launch

For the past 3 years, Inland photographer Tim Franco based in Seoul, South Korea has been documenting the incredible tales of women and men fleeing the North Korean dictatorship in search of another life. This exclusive project composed of portraits and testimonies of the defectors, as well as landscapes retracing the roads of their exile will be published as a photo book by the Magenta Foundation.

One portrait from the book will be part of a virtual covid19 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London through the Taylor Wessing Prize.

The project will also be exhibited in Tel Aviv at Photo Israel through the Meitar Awards. The festival takes place opens on November 9.

The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the fifth time this year to a photographer whose works demonstrate excellence in the field of photography.
