Portrait of comic book artist Keum Suk Gendry-Kim, for Le Monde, France | Tim Franco
In January 2025, photographer Tim Franco was assigned for French newspaper Le Monde to take a portrait of outh Korean comic book artist Keum Suk Gendry-Kim. In her work, she explores the themes of war, trauma, North Korea etc… Her graphic novel “My Friend Kim Jong-Un” was recently translated and published in France.
Tim Franco met her at her home on Ganghwa Island (South Korea) where he photographed her in her studio house.
