The African penguins' story in National Geographic | Melanie Wenger

Photographer Melanie Wenger's story about a very popular colony of African penguins facing multiple threats was published in National Geographic on 25 November. The penguin story started more than two years ago and focuses on the Boulders Beach colony in Cape Town, South Africa. It assembles all of the struggles that conservation faces in Africa as the species is threatened from extinction because of overfishing, climate change and mass tourism.
