"Romanian Yellowstone" for GEO | Vladimir Zivojinovic

Photographer Vladimir Zivojinovic was on assignment for GEO France covering the "Romanian Yellowstone". Inspired by the American Yellowstone National Park, this project is carried out by Fundatia Carpathia with the idea of creating Europe's largest natural reserve. In these wood-trafficking forests where thousands of bears, wolves, lynxes and bison live, this utopia creates tensions. Some villagers blame the Foundation for pulling the bears closer to cities while others are suspecting they are acquiring the land after finding gold or uranium deposits.
