Assignment on victims of defective car airbags for Libération, France | Romain Philippon
In February, on assignment for French newspaper Libération with journalist Laurent Decloitre, Romain Philippon photographed one of the victims of defective car airbags in La Réunion island, Pascal Amémoutou. He was severely injured in the head in 2022 while driving a Citroën C3. Numerous accidents involving defective car airbags have occurred in France in recent months. Overseas departments have been particularly affected due to the extreme heat that vehicles experience.
