Revolutionary in the Opera | Matjaz Tancic
During Japan's 35 year occupation of Korea, nearly 2 million Koreans - better known as the Zainichi - came to Japan. There are approximately 323,000 Zainichi in Japan, that have their own schools, newspapers... And even opera troupe. After 2 years of negotiations, photographer Matjaz Tancic finally got a green-light and was granted an exclusive access to document the Revolutionary Opera in the Grand Theatre in Pyongyang, North Korea and is sharing his new story this month.
