COVID-19 crisis coverage | Melanie Wenger

Photographer Mélanie Wenger is currently in Northern Italy red zone covering the lock down. So far more than 17 000 cases of COVID-19 have been found in Italy. The European start of the pandemic is in Lombardy where the situation is getting worse by the day. Despite the fact that a Prime Minister Decree enforced a complete lock down on the area, approximately 200 people die every day while more than 2000 new cases have been found today. Mélanie Wenger has been documenting the red zone giving a glimpse on what is coming for the rest of Europe and the US not far behind. Starting from Milan, she is moving to Venice, Pisa, Florence and Rome in the next week.
