"SPACE : Internal Illuminations", collective exhibition in Fotografiska Shanghai, China | Matjaž Tančič
Photographer Matjaž Tančič is exhibiting seven works from his Mars on Earth series in Scientific Vision & Internal Illuminations at Fotografiska Shanghai. The exhibition is on view now through March 2026.
Inspired by Albert Einstein’s idea of ‘internal illumination,’ the exhibition brings together 20 international artists exploring the cosmos through photography, video, and installation. Curated by Fotografiska, the group exhibition SPACE: A Visual Journey started its trajectory in Stockholm, traveled to Tallinn, and now arrives in Shanghai in a new iteration titled SPACE: Internal Illuminations. It explores the celestial frontier where artistic expression meets scientific inquiry, capturing the grandeur of the cosmos through the interpretive visions of artists.
