Auroville, the experimental township in India | Matjaz Tancic

Photographer Matjaz Tancic went to Auroville, 52 years after the inauguration of this experimental township in the southern India. It hosts about 2500 people from 59 different countries. As the founder of Auroville, Mirra Alfassa, better knows as The Mother said  - Auroville wants to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity. This Unesco protected 20 square meter township consists of 120 communities, pavilions, schools, a solar kitchen, small businesses, music studio, cinema...
