Cowgirls Don't cry | Melanie Wenger
With the ending of Donald Trump's impeachment trial, photographer Melanie Wenger's is sharing her new story Cowgirls Don't Cry, a snapshot of a fragmented reality.
For three months, she followed small groups of Trump supporters — isolated and organized alt-right, QAnon conspirators and white supremacists to create this new project consisting of a series of documents, photographs and correspondence between Trump's communication services and his supporters, and messages on the social network Parler. By using images and screenshots, she tries to separate the myths from reality. Documentation enlightens immediate history and Melanie's long-term approach provides the distance to capture and understand the America Trump leaves behind.
