Cover Story 'The birth of Tommaso' for National Geographic | Melanie Wenger
Photographer Mélanie Wenger together with @jasperdoest, @dguttenfelder and @nicholesobecki contributed to the @natgeo January cover story “Can aging be cured? Scientists are giving it a try’. Her cover photograph captures baby Tommaso Citti seconds after his birth, at the Beauregard Hospital in Aosta, Italy.
Children born nowadays are likely to live into their 90s, doubling the last 20 years life expectancy and therefore increasing the importance of researching aging and its effects. Important fundings have been allocated to this work in order to access cutting-edge technologies.
