"Corporeality" collective exhibition at Bastille Design Center, Paris | Matjaž Tančič, Tommaso Rada

Photographers Tommaso Rada and Matjaž Tančič’s work will be showcased as part of the collective exhibition “Corporeality” organized by Art-Icon at Bastille Design Center in Paris.

Tommaso Rada will present an image from his project “Frames of Struggle”, a work contrasting the historical representation of African slaves with images of the activism and resistance of Afro-Brazilian Quilombolas, seeking to build a new narrative and visual history of the Afro-Brazilian subject.

From the series “Revolution in the opera”, Matjaž Tančič will exhibit a portrait of Ju Hyang Hui, 23 years old, graduated from Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music (North Korea, November 2019). Matjaž Tančič received the permission to photograph the opera  in the least photographed country in the world, North Korea. The Revolutionary Operas are an art form regarded as sacrosanct due to their association with leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
